Stripe: UK business onboarding
Stripe lists the United Kingdom among its supported countries/regions. That is a useful starting point for a UK-based merchant, but it is not a promise that every applicant or business activity will be approved. Check Stripe’s current onboarding flow and the documentation it requests for your actual legal setup.

PayPal: receiving money is not the same as withdrawing it
PayPal’s UK help article describes instant transfers to eligible debit cards or bank accounts and standard bank transfers. Its documentation says standard transfers usually take 3–5 working days, but timing can vary by bank and review. Do not treat these timings as a guarantee for a particular transaction; check the options and fees shown in your own account before transferring.
Before relying on PayPal for client payments, confirm that your account is verified, your withdrawal destination is eligible and the account name matches the bank’s records. Foreign-currency withdrawals can involve conversion.

Wise: account access and receiving details
Wise includes the United Kingdom in its list of locations where customers can hold money. However, Wise separates several capabilities: registering and sending money, holding a balance, receiving through particular account details, and using a Wise card. Check the relevant feature page rather than assuming all capabilities automatically come with an account.

Shopify Payments: business structure matters
Shopify has a dedicated guide for UK merchants. Its current UK requirements distinguish business types: sole traders generally need to live in the UK, while companies and partnerships must meet UK registration and business-address requirements. Personal identification, business documents and a suitable bank account can also be required. Read the full current requirements rather than relying only on a country list.
